Ladies and gentlemen, skiers and riders of all ages, welcome to the greatest ski show on earth! Like clowns streaming out of a clown car, the number of deals and bargains for skiers and riders will seem endless at the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo. This is the 18th year of the Expo, being held Nov. 13-15 at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver.
The Expo is considered the unofficial launch for Colorado’s ski season as Front Range skiers and snowboarders will have a chance to take advantage of early season pricing on lift tickets and winter equipment. Colorado Ski Country USA resorts will be on site selling season passes and lift tickets, and mountain lodging properties will be offering early-bird packages and incentives.
Plus, the Expo features equipment, clothing, and accessories at price-defying discounts ranging from 40-75 percent off retail – hello? Holiday shopping.
We’d like to direct your attention to two new center ring Expo attractions including the spectacular Eliteam Training Challenge, presented by Eldora Mountain Resort and led by Olympian and downhill medalist Doug Lewis. This hands-on, interactive, physical-fitness fun area is where kids can play, train, and challenge themselves on specialized training apparatus.
On the spectator side, the never-before-seen MBS Mountainboards Big Air Show presented by Echo Mountain will stop attendees in their tracks with their high energy, most-dangerous feats of flipping, spinning, and rail sliding.
High above the Expo showroom floor, the Flying Ace All Star trampoline athletes presented by Aspen/Snowmass with their stunt-laden performances will showcase the aerial ability of freestyler and three-time Olympian Kris (Fuzz) Feddersen; former U.S. Gymnastics team member Casey Finley; and current U.S. Ski Team aerialist and Olympic hopeful Dylan Ferguson.
The unpredictable antics and contests supervised by “Uncle E” on Center Stage are always crowd-pleasing favorites as is the climbing wall.
Finally, in a salute to the upcoming Winter Olympics in Vancouver, B.C., the amazing, Hall of Famer and freestyle gold medalist Donna Weinbrecht will describe her path to Olympic gold and fellow teammates and Olympians will join her to celebrate the Olympic spirit at the Expo’s Olympic theater.
Admission is $12 for adults or $10 if purchased in advance online at www.OnTheSnow.com and kids 12 and under are free. Hours are noon to 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
