With so many distractions in March: the NCAA tournament, St. Patrick’s falling on a Saturday this year, and the early opening of many golf courses due to the unseasonably warm temperatures, it would have been easy to forget about spring skiing, but that was not the case for me. Spring skiing is one of my favorite times of the year, and Loveland was just the perfect resort to hit before we close off another glorious ski year. What you lack in powder in the spring, you gain in several other categories. Let me explain what I mean in my personal top ten reasons why spring skiing is still the best.

With more than a month of ski season left in Colorado, resorts throughout Colorado Ski Country are gearing up for their annual spring showdowns. Springtime in the Rockies pairs bluebird skies with long sunny days. This spring, resorts are pairing action-packed events with value-packed deals. Spring is in the air at Winter Park

You know it’s spring in Colorado Ski Country when resorts a) announce a shift in operating hours, b) offer spring pass sales, and c) we have to start talking about closing dates.
April is the final month of the 2011/12 winter season and Winter Park Resort has decided to make spring skiing and riding even brighter by adding two new features; adjusted spring hours and a new spring pass. Between April 9 and 22, lifts will be shifted forward one hour and as a last hoorah Winter Park will offer a new spring pass, the Last Blast $99 Pass for those guests wanting to get the most out of the last two weeks of the season.
