Top Ten Things to do in Durango this Summer (Part One)

Summer in Durango began with the arrival of Memorial Day weekend, when Durango Mountain Resort reopened with the Alpine Slide, zipline, climbing wall, mountain biking, digglers (a cross between a skateboard and mountain bike), and numerous other activities for families to enjoy together. It means their 2nd busy season has commenced (the other is winter).

Red, White & Blue Fun for Independence Day in Gunnison-Crested Butte

Races, music, fireworks, parades, hot air balloons and more!
The Fourth of July is a day to salute our country and enjoy spectacular red-white-and blue fun in Gunnison, Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte, Colo. The merriment includes a firehouse pancake breakfast, one-third marathon (run, walk or crawl!), parade, great food, old-fashioned games, concerts, hot air balloon rally, and, of course, fireworks. Colorado Ski Country USA Pays Homage to Industry’s Best

Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) recently acknowledged outstanding industry professionals at its third annual Double Diamond Awards Reception. The event capped a successful day-long program for the Colorado ski industry, CSCUSA’s 49th Annual Meeting. The Double Diamond Awards gives the trade association the opportunity to honor snow maintenance professionals, athletes, instructors, patrollers and industry legends. The celebration of these dedicated and inspiring individuals evoked memories of the 2011-12 season, and brought together the industry’s top professionals to share their experiences.
