Arapahoe Basin Announces Proposed Master Development Plan Open House
Ski area invites community members to a conversation about its long-term plans
ARAPAHOE BASIN, Colo. – Arapahoe Basin Ski Area (A-Basin) will be hosting an Open House to share its vision for improvements and changes to the ski area over the next decade. The Open House will take place Wednesday, August 29, 2012, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Keystone Center in Keystone, Colo.
Join A-Basin Chief Operating Officer Alan Henceroth in a conversation about the concepts and ideas in A-Basin’s Proposed 2012 Master Development Plan. Projects under consideration include a zipline tour, a surface lift to access Montezuma Bowl, increased snowmaking reservoir storage, and lift-served skiing in The Beavers. U.S. Forest Service staff from the Dillon Ranger District will also be present to answer any questions.
The Keystone Center is located at 1628 Sts. John Road in Keystone, Colorado.

Sunlight Mountain Resort Powder Pass Deadline

Sunlight Mountain Resort season passes for the 2012-13 season are on sale now. When season passes are purchased by August 15, 2012 buyers will receive a free Powder Pass with their purchase. Powder Pass holders are able to load the lifts 30 minutes earlier than everyone else when Sunlight receives 6” or more of snow. That means they get to hit all of the powder stashes first! It’s important to purchase season passes now because once the powder pass is not included with the pass, it goes up to $50 and $70 after September 15th, 2012. (continue reading…)

Warrior Dash is a fierce 5K event that challenges, and welcomes, all athletic abilities. Adventure–seeking athletes will head to Copper Mountain Ski Resort to conquer 12 bigger and badder obstacles over more than three miles of extreme terrain. Aspen/Snowmass Announces Pass Pricing for 2012-2013 Season

Oh yeah, it’s getting to be that time of year again. Resorts are starting to announce their pass prices and put their passes on sale. Colorado Ski Country USA launched the Gems Card earlier this week, and today Aspen/Snowmass announced season pass structure and pricing for the 2012-2013 season.  Passes go on sale Monday, August 13. The Premier Pass is loaded with more benefits than ever and the Classic Pass will be available as a four and seven-day product once again.

“It feels like there is some pent up excitement for powder after last winter,” said Jeff Hanle, director of public relations, Aspen Skiing Company. “It will be exciting to return to winter as we know it and see our passholders out in force. We’ve worked hard to develop a selection of passes that fit everyone’s needs.” (continue reading…)
