Arapahoe Basin Launches “Double Down” Pass
The 2-season pass is first of its kind in the ski industry
ARAPAHOE BASIN, Colo. – Arapahoe Basin Ski Area (A-Basin) announced the launch of the Double Down pass, the ski industry’s first two-season pass product. With the Double Down pass, skiers and riders have the advantage of locking in the pass price for two seasons at a great rate without worrying about a price increase.
This adult two-season pass is valid for unlimited skiing and riding at Arapahoe Basin for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons. The Double Down pass costs $499 and saves regular A-Basin adult season pass holders at least $99 over two years.
“With an average of 233 ski days per season, our A-Basin guests can now get two very long Colorado ski seasons at a very affordable price,” said Alan Henceroth, Arapahoe Basin COO.
The Double Down also affords its pass holders the same great on-mountain benefits as the regular single-season A-Basin pass. These include 10 percent off food and beverage purchases as well as purchases made in the Arapahoe Sports retail shop. A-Basin pass holders also receive one $45 half-day class lesson with the A-Basin Snowsports School (Friday through Sunday), $10 off performance tuning (valid all season), one unguided day at Silverton, and discounted pricing on lift tickets for friends and family.
Interested skiers and riders are encouraged to buy the Double Down soon, as it is only available until December 31, 2012. Pass holders who have already purchased a single-season A-Basin pass can upgrade to the Double Down for $200.

Single-season A-Basin passes are also on sale: $299 for adults; $209 for youth ages 15-18; and $139 for children ages 6-14. Seniors 70+ ski for $75.
Plan on making mountain trips a family affair? A-Basin offers the Family Pass incentive: purchase three or more season passes for your immediate family and receive one $10 A-Basin gift card per pass! The gift card can be used at any of our on-mountain restaurants or retailers.
All A-Basin passes qualify for the A-Basin Charge option. For more information about this program, please visit arapahoebasin.com/passes.
While all A-Basin season passes are non-refundable and non-transferrable, A-Basin is now offering pass insurance through Travel Guard. Pass insurance, available for purchase along with the season pass, allows skiers and riders to purchase their two-season pass with the confidence that they can be reimbursed if either of their seasons is cut short.
Pass insurance is priced at 6 percent of the total pass price. Pass holders have 30 days from the purchase of the pass or until the first day of ski season (whichever comes first) to opt in to the pass insurance program.
All A-Basin pass products are available at the mountain, online or by calling 888-ARAPAHOE (272-7246). You can also purchase all of our pass products this Labor Day weekend (8/31-9/3) at Sniagrab at the Sports Authority at 1000 Broadway in Denver.
