Copper Mountain Resort Welcomes Its 40th Anniversary Season Friday

The American Eagle chairlift starts turning at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2. This marks the commencement of Copper Mountain’s 40th Anniversary Season. Throughout opening weekend, guests can experience skiing and snowboarding off of the American Eagle chairlift, Easy Rider Surface lift and at two Woodward at Copper terrain parks. The Bouncer Terrain Park and Eagle Beginner Park will host over 20 features and 2 jumps, catering to all ability levels.

Eldora Ramps Up Snowmaking

October 29, 2012— Cold temperatures and a burst of winter weather over the weekend allowed Eldora Mountain Resort to begin snowmaking operations for the season. The video linked below offers a look inside Eldora’s snow-making operations and the 100 new low-energy HKD® snow guns recently added to Eldora’s fleet. “These new guns will significantly reduce our energy usage for snowmaking,” said Eldora Spokesman Rob Linde, “and provide a great snow surface for Eldora skiers and riders in the early season.”
Eldora Mountain Resort the plans to open for the 2012-2013 Season on Friday, November 16th.

Colorado Ski Country USA Gems Cards Now Available at Credit Union of Colorado

Wouldn’t you know it? With ski season already open in Colorado, skiers and snowboarders can once again benefit from saving on winter ski deals by purchasing a Colorado Gems Card for $10 at any of the Credit Union of Colorado’s 15 statewide locations. The cards are issued by Colorado Ski Country USA, and provide a variety of discounts – including new, time-sensitive Flash Deals – at eight of Colorado’s ski areas. Two of these eight are open to the public already, and skiers and riders were happy to see four and five fresh inches this morning at Arapahoe Basin and Loveland, respectively.
