And so it begins. Favorable weather conditions have enabled Copper Mountain Resort to fire up the snow guns this morning, commencing one of Colorado’s largest snowmaking operations and launching the U.S. Speed Center VIP Preview Contest. Eighty seven automatic snowmaking guns are dedicated to the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center, which is the world’s only early season full-length alpine racing venue and scheduled to open later this month.

This season, Copper Mountain guests can enter to win VIP access to the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center at Copper Mountain with an exclusive opportunity to ski or ride with the U.S. Ski Team prior to the venue opening this winter. Copper Mountain season pass holders can enter on Facebook for VIP access that includes lift access for two, a venue tour from a U.S. Ski Team athlete followed by open skiing and riding and lunch with the Team.

The game-changing U.S. Ski Team Speed Center is utilized by Olympic gold medalists like Ted Ligety (Park City, UT), Bode Miller (Franconia, NH), Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) and Julia Mancuso (Squaw Valley, CA) and features the only full-length downhill training available anywhere in the world during this time of year.

Entries to the Speed Center VIP Preview Contest will be accepted until Oct. 28. The official event day will be announced on the U.S. Ski Team and Copper Mountain Facebook fan pages. Guests must have a Copper Mountain Season Pass, Copper Four Pack, Rocky Mountain Super Pass, or Super Pass Plus to enter. Season Pass products prices are guaranteed until Oct. 15.
