Arapahoe Basin announces opening day for 2012-13 ski and ride season

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area (A-Basin) announced that Wednesday, October 17, 2012, will mark the official start to the Colorado ski and snowboard season. The Black Mountain Express lift will start at 9:00 a.m. MST to shuttle guests to the beginning of the intermediate High Noon trail at mid-mountain.

My boys, like most kids, are all about growing up. They want to be taller, older, able to do more things and go more places independently. Once they left grade school, they deemed it “the worst.” Middle school is now something to tolerate on the way to high school. While I want time to slow down, they want it to speed up. They don’t want to look back or go back. Except for, maybe, 5th grade.

The Winter Park Competition Center will host its 28th Annual Ski and Snowboard Swap Friday, October 12, from 5-9 pm and Saturday, October 13, from 9 am-6 pm located in West Portal Station at the base of Winter Park Resort. All proceeds benefit the Winter Park Competition Center and the Winter Park Ski Education Foundation.
