One of the most amazing winter carnivals, hands-down, no-doubt, bet-your-season-pass is Steamboat Springs’ Winter Carnival. It’s coming up Feb 6-10. Do. Not. Miss. It. And when you get there, be sure to put on some warm socks, fill a thermos with some piping hot <ahem> cocoa, and head out for a night at the signature event, the Night Extravaganza.

That’s right, it is still coming down for all you powderhounds out there, as three fresh inches fell over the past 24 hours at CSCUSA Gem resort Powderhorn. As we type this, it’s a bluebird day with plenty of fresh powder at Grand Junction’s home resort.

Parking in Colorado has its risks, as this poor damsel in distress recently realized after leaving her car unattended for a day a Durango Mountain Resort lot. The resort is reporting a whopping 22 inches in the last 48 hours. I believe it:

Snowing in the High Country

It’s snowing again in the mountains, and resorts across Ski Country are feeling the love from Mother Nature. The most recent storm plastered the Southwest with snow – including a 32-inch, 24 hour haul at Silverton – and left plenty of snow at other resorts throughout the state. It’s not over yet either, as more snow is in the forecast for the upcoming week.
