Copper Mountain Announces the Annual Sunsation Celebration Lineup and Events, April 13-14

Copper Mountain will once again embrace its famous Sunsation festival during closing weekend, April 13-14, and have released the names of those performing. This weekend-long celebration headlined by musical acts Matt and Kim and Ozomatli will also include pond skimming competitions, adventure races, and plenty of sunshine.

Spring at Snowmass: Ski Late on Friday, Stay for the Weekend

For the past eleven years, the last day of the work week meant Bud Light Big Air Fridays at Snowmass. This competition invites all comers to show their stease on the 40-foot jump on Upper Fanny Hill. It’s an impressive display of progressive insanity and flight. And while Big Air Friday still welcomes in the weekend at Snowmass, it’s no longer the only game in town.

Happy Birthday Tunnel!

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the dedication and opening of the westbound bore or the Eisenhower Tunnel at the Eisenhower/Johnson Memorial Tunnel west of Denver, which is the highest vehicle tunnel in the world at 11,155 feet. We thought it appropriate to give a shout-out to the Tunnel that has served as a lifeline to our sporting opportunities here in Colorado, and the role it played in helping develop our business and increased visitation.

Day In The Park At Aspen

Last week I rallied down to Aspen with staff photographer Aaron Dodds for the first park shoot of Volume 4 of Snowboard Colorado Magazine. We met up with a young crew of dudes – Red Gerard, Blake Axelson, Ezra Racine and Wylie Adams – and lucked out with a bluebird day.
