Aspen Mountain opened early for the season Sunday– nearly two weeks before the scheduled opening date – with six fresh inches of powder for skiers and riders. Even better, snow continued to fall all day in Aspen.
Aspen Mountain opened with 216 acres, 3,200 feet of vertical, three lifts and 21 trails open. More than 60 inches of snow has fallen in Aspen/Snowmass this fall, allowing for one of the earliest openings in Aspen Skiing Company history.
Aspen Mountain will reopen daily on Saturday, November 23 along with Snowmass. Snowmass and Aspen Mountain were scheduled to open on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28. Thanksgiving weekend will be packed with events including the Thanksjibbing rail jam at Snowmass Base Village on Friday, November 29 and the first Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert of the season featuring Elephant Revival on Saturday, November 30 at the base of Aspen Mountain.
