Sunlight Mountain Resort is the ski area I know best because it is my home ski area. What can I say? It is my second home and I spend a lot of time there. My Dad is a volunteer ski patroller there and that has been really nice for me to tag along and hit the slopes. My favorite ski runs at Sunlight are Sun King, Primo, and Perry’s plunge.  I know a secret about Sunlight and that is the awesome tree skiing.  For the families who ski and snowboard together having only one base area is nice so you all end up at the same place and can find each other.  One of my favorite games is for some of my friends and family to all go on a different ski run and see who gets to the base first.

Sunlight Mountain Resort is a family friendly ski area and it is very affordable.  Some of the things I love the most are the great customer service and that everyone who works there is part of a big family. The employees communicate with everyone to make the best experience while they are there. Dave the lift supervisor takes this very seriously and makes sure his lift operators are doing a great job.  My favorite lift operator is Ana; she has a special way with people.   Rachel, the food and beverage person at the resort said that if you are extra nice she would add a free cherry on top of your hot cocoa. I love the hot cocoa. Can you tell that I love cocoa? It is my favorite and if your hot cocoa is good then I am a happy girl! Thanks to the paid ski patrollers and the volunteer patrollers for keeping us all safe.

Sunlight Mountain Resort also has a store in downtown Glenwood Springs on the corner of 9th and Cooper. If you need rentals and lift tickets and you don’t want to wait until you are on the Mountain, you can get them at the shop. I enjoy shopping there and looking for great deals.

Sunlight just got a few more inches of fresh snow and all the runs are open. Come visit and see what all the excitement is about.
