Arapahoe Basin
Rail Jams – Reflecting its commitment to enhancing the experience of freestyle skiers and riders, Arapahoe Basin will host rail jams throughout the 2011/12 season. In May, rail jams will be held every Saturday in the Treeline Terrain Park. Registration and attendance are free.
Spring Splash – Don’t miss Arapahoe Basin’s annual Spring Splash competition at Lake Reveal. Lake Reveal is a natural lake that forms to the side of Dercum’s Gulch trail. Participants who successfully ski or snowboard across the lake will win free prizes. Categories include best costume, best trick, best dunk, best run and many more. Registration is free.

May Concert Series – Every Saturday in May A-Basin will heat things up with free live entertainment in the base area. Guests are invited to head down to the party after the free rail jam.

Arapahoe Basin Will Open For The 2011/12 Season Tomorrow

One good opening deserves another, and that’s exactly what will happen tomorrow at 9:00 am at Colorado Ski Country USA member resort Arapahoe Basin in Colorado. October 13th will be the start of the 2011/12 ski season at Arapahoe Basin, thanks to a great week of snowmaking and several fresh inches of snow. Resort officials announced the opening date just 100 days after they closed down for the last season, which was on July 4th, 2011, even longer than their already long season.
Wolf Creek Ski Area Opened Today

The Colorado ski season started with a powdery initiation this morning as Wolf Creek Ski Area opened its first chair lift to skiers and riders. At 9:00 am today, with three lifts operating, a midway base of 32 inches and a summit base of 35 inches, Wolf Creek Ski Area became the first ski resort in Colorado to open this season. This is the earliest opening ever for the resort, beating their previous earliest opening date of October 27, 2006. (continue reading…)
